Overview

Working with adoption is a highly specialised area, often with the most traumatised of children and their parents and families. What are the key principles of working therapeutically with this group? Using case studies and creative interventions, this webinar will introduce this fascinating and complex field of clinical work.

About the presenter

Roz Read

Roz has worked with adopted children and their parents for the past 20 years initially with Family Futures and then for 10 years, with the PAC-UK. Roz now works in private practice, commissioned by Regional Adoption Agencies as an independent provider. Roz is the Course Director of the Integrative Child Psychotherapy MA training at IATE validated by UEL where she teaches and designs the curriculum. With a background working in the arts, Roz has worked extensively with children and teenagers in multi-cultural inner-city community projects, schools and multi-disciplinary teams for over 35 years.

Roz trained at IATE, and is a UKCP registered Integrative Child Psychotherapist, a Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) Certified Practitioner and a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. In 2022, Roz and Dr Jeanne Magagna co-edited the book, "Contemporary Child Psychotherapy: Integration and Imagination in Creative Clinical Practice".
